There are two types of members: Voting and Non-Voting members. All residents and former residents of Francisville regardless of age may be Non-Voting members. You must specify which type of member you wish to be at time of application.
If you are under 18 and wish to be a Non-Voting member you must have a parent or guardian fill out and submit an application for you. Underage members are encouraged to volunteer. Volunteer hours will be calculated and can be applied to the future voting member application when he/she turns 18.
Voting members pay monthly dues or volunteer not less than 40 hours per year. If you are dues paying member you must adhere to the rules governing dues paying members, as noted below. You may volunteer as well, however you may not exchange volunteer hours for dues or vice versa. You may change your membership status in January or July. Only voting members are allowed to vote in member voting meetings. Typically member voting meetings occur once a year to vote in a new Board of Directors. You may be requested to vote more than once per year if it is necessary to replace a Board Member, fill a vacancy on the Board or amend the by-laws.
Dues money collected from members support the various activities/operation of Francisville NDC.
To be a voting member you must adhere to the following.
Voting Member/Dues paying:
- Must be at least 18 years or older and a current or former resident of Francisville.
- You should believe in the mission of Francisille NDC and express a strong desire to be involved.
- Must complete a membership application and submit it to the Treasurer.
- Francisville NDC yearly dues are $40.00. Dues can be paid yearly in January or twice a year during January and July.
- The treasurer will keep the dues records of all members.
- Dues must be paid up to maintain voting status.
- Members are encouraged to keep dues payment receipts for the purpose of providing proof of voting status.
- Volunteer voting members are required to volunteer 40 hours a year, 20 hours semi-annual or 3.3 hours per month.
- Volunteering members will be contacted to, distribute flyers, work at events or meetings. If you have a specific skill useful to the organization and you wish to volunteer your services, you should specify this at the time of application. Francisville NDC currently has no paid staff and there is always a need for people with computer skills, typing, accounting, legal services, grant writing etc.
- Volunteer members are responsible for keeping track of their volunteer hours. Please purchase a small note book to record volunteer hours and bring it with you when you are scheduled to volunteer. Your hours will be recorded and signed by any officer of organization.
- You will be required to present your volunteer-service record at the time of a member voting meeting.
